NO – NEVER DO THIS! Attempting to pull out the fitting after it has only been partially inserted causes the Grab Ring to “Dig-In” to the pipe leaving a permanent scar which will destroy the integrity of the joint and leak. IF THIS OCCURS you MUST use the Disassembly Tong to release the fitting, then Re-Cut the pipe above the Grab Ring indentations and at a point where there is no sign of any scratches, scars, scrapes or indents that will align with the depth of the EPS Push-Fit pex fitting. Always use the EPS Push-Fit Depth Gauge / Deburring Tool.
